Reverse Engineering casted metal part

In order to reproduce this part, TetraVision scanned it competely and then used this scan as a reference for the reverse engineering of a new CAD model.

We used a geometric modeling approach.

Process

Scanning in free state
Spraying of the part with water based anti-reflex spray
Digitizing of the top and bottom

Used technology

GOM Atos III triple scanner with a 320MV
Automatic rotation table

Post processing

Alignment in the world coordinate system using the main features of the part.
